A traditional herbal tea of the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, made by steeping dried sage leaves in boiling water. Served plain, this tea is known for its sharp, herbaceous aroma.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Bring the water to a boil

5 min

Bring the water to a boil and remove from the heat.

2

Steep the sage tea

8 min

Add the sage leaves to the boiled water, cover, and let it steep for 5-8 minutes.

3

Strain and serve

5 min

Strain the tea, divide among cups, and if desired sweeten with honey and serve hot.

Reminder

Important: Don't boil the sage tea for long; just add it to boiled water and steep, as boiling leaves a bitter taste. Note: Those on regular medication should consult their doctor, since interactions should be considered with heavy consumption.

Tarifte yazan sıcaklık bende biraz yüksek geldi, kısarak denedim.

Ölçüleri gram cinsinden verseniz daha net olur, bardak ölçüsü bende farklı çıktı. Bekletme süresini kısalttım, yine de güzel açıldı.

Bekletme süresini atladım, tadı biraz eksik kaldı. Bende biraz kurudu, muhtemelen fazla pişirdim. İlk seferde dağıldı, ikinci denemede daha iyi tutundu.
