A Balkan staple, borlotti beans are pressure-cooked with carrot and potato until soft and blended into a smooth purée. Made without salt or spice, it gives babies from 8 months a meal rich in iron and fibre.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Add the beans to the pressure cooker

5 min

Drain the soaked beans and place them in the pressure cooker with the carrot and potato, then add the water. Seal the lid and bring the pressure cooker up to pressure.

2

Cook under pressure

40 min

Cook over low heat for 40 minutes, then remove from the heat and let the pressure release naturally. The beans should be soft enough to mash between your fingers.

3

Blend smooth

10 min

Drain the cooked beans and vegetables and blend them with a little of the cooking water, adding the olive oil, until completely smooth.

Reminder

Do not forget to soak the dried borlotti beans for at least 8 hours beforehand, or they will not soften properly in the pressure cooker. If this is your baby's first time, start with a small spoonful. Contains no listed allergens.
