Leftover boiled rice from the day before is simmered with milk and vanilla over low heat and mashed smooth into a no-added-sugar baby porridge. Inspired by the Greek classic rizogalo, this recipe gives leftover rice a second life.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Bring the Rice and Milk to the Boil

5 min

Combine the leftover rice with the milk in a pot and bring to the boil.

2

Simmer

12 min

Simmer over low heat, stirring often, for 12 minutes until the rice is fully soft and the mixture thickens.

3

Mash and Add Vanilla

3 min

Mash the mixture smooth with a fork or blender and stir in the vanilla, sprinkling cinnamon on top if you like.

Reminder

Stir often while the porridge simmers over low heat so it does not stick to the bottom of the pot. Allergens: contains milk and dairy.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Only use the cinnamon for babies over 1 year old; for younger babies, check with your paediatrician before adding any spice.
