A soft and filling baby puree combining carrot and potato. With its mildly sweet taste and smooth consistency, it's a nutritious option suited to babies' lunchtime meal from the sixth month onward.
Peel the carrot and potato and cut into small, even cubes.
Steam the vegetables, or cook with a little water, for about eighteen minutes until soft enough to mash with a fork.
Puree the cooked vegetables in a blender or mash with a fork. Optionally add olive oil, adjust the consistency with warm boiled water, and serve warm.
Important: Do not add salt or sugar to baby food. Introduce new foods one at a time, following the three-day rule, and watch for signs of allergy. Consult your pediatrician about your baby's diet. Prepare the puree fresh and consume it the same day.
Chopping the vegetables into small, even pieces lets them cook at the same rate. You can enrich the consistency with a tsp of olive oil; healthy fats support the baby's development.
