A refreshing children's drink served with ice, made by straining watermelon juice and mixing it with fresh mint leaves and lemon juice. Minimizing added sugar, this recipe is a practical alternative for children who struggle to drink their water on hot summer days.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Blend the watermelon

5 min

Blend the diced watermelon until it reaches a smooth consistency.

2

Strain

5 min

Strain the watermelon puree through a fine sieve to remove the seeds and pulp.

3

Mix with mint and lemon

3 min

Add the lemon juice and lightly crushed mint leaves to the strained watermelon juice and dilute with water.

4

Serve with ice

2 min

Divide the drink among glasses with ice and serve immediately.

Reminder

Important: After blending the watermelon, be sure to strain it through a fine sieve; otherwise seed fragments may remain in the drink. Add the mint leaves without crushing them, just lightly bruised; over-crushing can leave a bitter taste. The drink should be consumed the same day from the fridge, it should not be kept until the next day.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

You can adjust the balance to your own taste by increasing or decreasing the amount of lemon juice depending on how sweet the watermelon is.
