The baby-friendly cousin of a Brazilian breakfast staple, this papinha comes together in minutes by mixing mashed banana with lightly cooked oats. No sugar is added — the natural sweetness comes entirely from the banana.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Cook the oats

6 min

Put the finely ground oats and milk in a small pan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for 6 minutes until it turns into a soft porridge.

2

Let it cool

4 min

Remove from the heat and let it sit for 4 minutes until it reaches a safe temperature for your baby.

3

Add the banana

3 min

Mash the banana smooth with a fork and stir it into the warm oat porridge; loosen with a spoonful more milk if it feels too thick.

Reminder

If oats are new to your baby, follow the single-ingredient rule and hold off on other new foods for a few days. Mash the banana right before serving — mashed ahead of time it browns and turns slightly sour. Allergens: contains milk and dairy.

Bebeğim için lapa biraz fazla koyu oldu, tarifte önerilen yarım bardak süt yerine üçte iki bardak kullansam daha kaşıklanabilir bir kıvam elde ederdim sanırım. Tat güzeldi ama kıvamı biraz uğraştırdı.
