Pear slices are lightly roasted in the air fryer and combined with a ginger syrup for a warming drink inspired by English tea rooms. Roasting concentrates the fruit's natural sugars while the ginger syrup gives the drink its lively warmth.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Roast the pear

12 min

Arrange the thinly sliced pear in a single layer in the air fryer basket and roast at 180°C for 12 minutes. If you do not have an air fryer, roast the slices in an oven at the same temperature for 12 minutes instead.

2

Make the syrup

10 min

Put the grated ginger, sugar, cinnamon stick and water in a pan and bring to the boil; once boiling, simmer over low heat for another 8 minutes.

3

Let it steep

5 min

Turn off the heat and let the syrup steep with the lemon slices for 5 minutes; this resting time lets the ginger release its aroma fully.

4

Serve

3 min

Strain the syrup into cups, top with the roasted pear slices and serve hot.

Reminder

If you do not have an air fryer, roast the pear slices in an oven preheated to 180°C for 12 minutes instead. Stay close to the pan while the syrup boils, as the ginger can froth up and boil over.

Airfryer'da 12 dakika kavurmak benim armutlarım için biraz azdı, dilimler hâlâ diriydi; süreyi birkaç dakika uzatsam kenarları fazla kurutur muyum acaba? Ayrıca zencefili rendelemek yerine ince dilimleseydim şurubun aroması nasıl değişirdi merak ediyorum.

Zencefilli şurubu tam kıvamında oldu, armutların kavrulmuş tadı sıcak içeceğe hoş bir derinlik kattı.
