Made by pressure-cooking heart-healthy oats and apple for just a few minutes and blending them smooth, this porridge works as one of a baby's first breakfasts and is easy for the whole family to enjoy together.

Step by Step

How to make it?

1

Soak the oats

30 min

Mix the rolled oats with lukewarm water and let them sit for 30 minutes — this soak makes them easier to digest.

2

Pressure-cook

5 min

Transfer the soaked oats and the peeled, diced apple to the pressure cooker, add water, seal the lid and cook for 5 minutes once it whistles.

3

Release the pressure

10 min

Remove the pot from the heat and let the steam release naturally for 10 minutes.

4

Blend and cool

15 min

Blend the mixture until smooth, then let it cool to room temperature for 15 minutes before feeding it to your baby.

Reminder

Always test the temperature with your finger before feeding it to your baby — food straight from the pressure cooker can be hotter than it looks.

Editor's Note Editörün Notu

Using pear instead of apple makes the porridge less tart and softer in texture; the cooking time stays the same.

Bebeğim ilk kez katı gıdaya geçerken bunu denedik, kıvamı tam istediğim gibiydi ve rahatça yuttu.
